Sarah and Ethan met in middle school. The couple dated in eighth grade and went to their first dance together, and started dating again in junior year. They've been together since.

Ethan's family owns a barbecue restaurant, and with the help of Sarah's "sick" father who "needed food", tricked Sarah into going to the restaurant. Ethan was waiting there, and he proposed to Sarah in front of their parents.
