Family session aren't something I do often, but after taking photos for this beautiful bunch I'm looking forward to the next one. When I do family photos, I'm not looking for the typical "stand in front of the camera and smile," though I truly do love those and I think they look great. My main focus is candids. I want to capture the small moments - when dad cracks everyone up and they think I'm not snapping photos. When mom and daughter look at each other and I can see how much they care for each other. When the siblings play around while I'm taking photos of mom and dad, and I stop for just a quick minute to take photos of the kids. THOSE are the moments I live for when I'm shooting. They may not be the photos that are hung on the wall, but they're the photos the family will look back on and remember everything about that day, and that's what's important.
